La “Pelletteria il Veliero Srl”, è nata nel 1974 a Pontassieve, vicino Firenze per volontà di tre soci che tutt’ora la dirigono.
L’azienda è specializzata nello sviluppo e nella  produzione di borse, accessori di  pelletteria e valigeria leggera, in tutti i tipi di materiali, anche pregiati ed esotici, per i più grandi Brands mondiali.
Da questa storica esperienza, maturata da quarant’anni di attività, è nata la voglia di creare anche un proprio  Brand intitolato a “Galeotto Cei”, navigatore fiorentino del 1500.
L’azienda è di medie dimensioni, in uno stabile di proprietà di 3500 mq2, abbiamo cinquanta dipendenti  e una filiera di venti  ditte che lavorano per noi nel rispetto dei criteri di sostenibilità sociale e ambientale.
Produciamo circa 160.000 pezzi ogni anno.
Ogni fase del processo produttivo viene controllata e monitorata in maniera scrupolosa e costante.
L’azienda è suddivisa in vari reparti: la modelleria, dove avviene lo  sviluppo del disegno della borsa, il modello, la prototipia e la collezione; il reparto degli accessori e delle materie prime;  il reparto di produzione dove vengono realizzate  principalmente borse in pellame esotico e pregiato, ed infine il reparto di controllo qualità e spedizione.
Tutto il processo produttivo viene sviluppato con l’uso di attrezzatura tecnologica avanzata. Abbiamo macchinari per il taglio lama, per la cucitura a programma e sistemi di incollaggio e di coloritura a controllo visivo.
Tutto questo è per mantenere sempre un’alta qualità del prodotto e per conservare la caratteristica artigianale sviluppata nel corso della vita dell’azienda riuscendo a fare anche pezzi unici e personalizzati.
Sempre con lo scopo di migliorarci e di migliorare il nostro prodotto, abbiamo affrontato percorsi organizzativi e formativi  aziendali che ad oggi ci hanno fatto diventare una struttura all’avanguardia nel settore e servire al meglio la nostra clientela.

About Us

“Pelletteria il Veliero Srl” was established in 1974 in the small town of Pontassieve, in the province of Florence, by the three founding members who still run the company.
The company has specialized in the development and production of leather bags and accessories as well as lightweight luggage in every type of material, including fine ones, for major world labels. The experience matured in over forty years of activity inspired the research and the creation of an own line of bags under the charming brand of “Galeotto Cei”, Florentine sailor and merchant from the Renaissance era.
This medium-sized company covers a privately-owned area of 3,500 sqm where fifty employees in addition to a supply chain of twenty companies work for the brand in compliance with standard criteria of both social and environmental sustainability.
The company’s production capacity amounts at around 160,000 pieces per year.
Every production stage is controlled and monitored carefully and continuously.
The premises are divided into different departments; first the modeling department, where design, prototyping and collection development take place. Then we have the department dedicated to accessories and raw materials followed by the workshop which is mainly dedicated to the manufacturing of bags in exotic and fine leathers. Finally, the quality control and shipment department.
The entire production process is ensured by the use of cutting-edge technology. The company has machineries for blade cutting and programmed stitching as well as systems dedicated to sticking and dyeing with visual control.
Thanks to all this, the highest quality of the product is ensured throughout the production while the artisanal characteristic is preserved which has distinguished Pelletteria Il Veliero over the years and allowed for the creation of unique and customized items.
Thanks to trainings focused on company organization and competences, and with the aim to improve skills and products, the company has turned into a modern structure capable to satisfy its clientele’s requirements at best.
